A good rule of thumb is to change your oil every 5,000KMs. However, follow your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations that are listed in your logbook. This will specify the frequency for an oil change for your driving conditions. The frequency of your oil and filter changes should follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

What is the difference between a Logbook Service and Minor Car Service?

 Basic Car Service

  • Replaces the engine oil and oil filter; and
  • It is often referred to as a ‘general’ or ‘minor’ service.

There are several checks conducted during this service to ensure your car is safe to drive.

  • These are a series of scheduled services that are recommended by the car’s manufacturer at a particular time or kilometre interval;
  • Each logbook service is different as they are specific to the make and model of your vehicle.
